Los Angeles, CA
My work takes on my lived experiences and family stories as a point of departure to play with my first gen Mexican Honduran upbringing, born and raised in southeast Los Angeles :)
I am a 90’s baby and 2000’s kid invested in ideas around capitalism, guilt, girlhood, and pop culture. My video and stained glass works play in storytelling - mixing in the mythos and aesthetics I grew up with around latinidad, sci-fi, spirituality, and superstition. Also, humor!
Sometimes I play characters. Sometimes I collaborate with my family - with an archive of home footage and photos in addition to working together in the present day. My work balances cute with dark and funny with sad :( My work and I exist in a world that is ending very soon. I hope u enjoy!
